“Maaamaaa!” Yiran shouts at the top of her lungs, as she tumbles inside the door. Mommy leaves the computer to meet her. Yiran runs to mommy, thrusting her face into mommy’s chest. Mommy opens her arms, wraps her up and kisses her cheeks that have turned rosy from the chilly air outside. “Hi! How is school today?” “I’m the flag girl! I have the loudest voice when we do the pledge of allegiance!” “Where is Grandpa?” “I got him after I got off the bus and I was running so fast and he’s behind… Oh mama mama I have to go pee! This minute!” Yiran breaks away from mommy’s arms and dashes to the bathroom.
She is now 6 years and 8 months. Watching her grow is like witnessing a budding flower. The color, size, shape, texture, and aroma change from morning to evening and from day to day. But we know it is just revealing its beauty little by little.
